Helping children to heal
from the hurt of divorce.

Children experiencing divorce tell us they feel alone and helpless. Your

children may feel scared, sad and

confused. They may hide their feelings from you because they are worried about your happiness or because they do not know how to express their

feelings appropriately.

Some children struggle deeply with the separation and divorce, while

others seem to bounce back quickly. In the long run, all children are

affected. DC4K will help minimize the short- and long-term negative

effects of divorce on your children’s schoolwork, emotional health and spiritual life.

As your children begin to heal from the pain and confusion, their

relationships with you, God and others will grow healthy and strong.

DC4K will meet on Sunday mornings, 10:30-12:15 at the church,

beginning on September 23rd. It is for children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.    Registration will be $15.

Register at the church or contact Sean Smith at 508-222-9400 x102 or

At DC4K, for 13 weeks your children become involved in a fun, caring group that will help them learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy. And they will meet other children who understand how they feel.

Each session is filled with motivating and exciting activities. Games, crafts, role playing, discussion times, journaling and work books help your children process the divorce and move forward in their lives. The music and stories teach your children to relax and rest secure in God’s love. The video dramas present stories of children just like your children, who are experiencing divorce-related problems and have found help and encouragement.  Throughout the weeks at DC4K, your child will

· Learn to understand their feelings

· Express their emotions appropriately

· Develop coping skills

· Be introduced to biblical concepts that will bring comfort
