GOOD $ENSE $$$ENSE |
|
One of the most worrisome words in the English language . . . Debt can keep you up late at night. Debt can drive you to drink, fight with your spouse, have anxiety, and experience a host of other miseries. Can't figure out why you're depressed on the morning after payday? It's because the only ones celebrating your payday are your creditors, since 40 percent of your paycheck is going towards your ever-growing debts. The average credit card debt outstanding in the typical U.S. household is about $13,000, and the average annual interest rate being paid on that debt is nearly 15 percent. If you make minimum payments on that card, it would take you more than 25 years to become debt free and cost you over $50,000.00 in total payments. And that's if you never charge another dime! The "Good $ense" ministry exists to help you understand and implement Biblical Financial Principles that will transform your finances and your life. Our goal is to equip and support people so they can responsibly manage their resources, deal with “root issues” that lead to overspending, and develop a comprehensive plan that will lead to financial freedom. MEETING INFORMATION "Good $ense" budget workshops will be offered over six weeks on Sunday mornings, 10:45-12:00. Participants will learn and discuss topics such as: · How to Make a Spending Plan Work for You · Prioritization of Financial Goals · Debt-Free Living Come and learn how to become diligent earners, generous givers, wise savers, cautious debtors, and prudent consumers. By the end of six weeks, you will be equipped to reach your goals, and be on your way to financial health and freedom. If you are interested in participating in a financial workshop, or if you'd like to learn more about the "Good $ense" ministry, contact Sean Smith at the church office, 508-222-9400 X 102 or seans@communitycovenant.org. |
