"Do Good - Make a Difference!"

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in our time of need."

We are humbled and grateful by your prayers and desire to support our Haitian "neighbors" during this horrific time.  If you would like to make a contribution to our Haiti Relief Fund, please do so at  Hope in Action - Haiti Relief (Visa or MasterCard only please), or if you would rather send a check, you can make it out to Community Covenant Church and put on the Memo line: Haiti Relief.

The Haiti relief effort will be in two stages:

Stage One: Stabilize lives - food, water, emergency medical care.

Stage Two: We believe Haiti will reform around the churches, since that is what they trust. We will work with Haitian pastors to engage in that long recovery process.  We feel this is the best approach to ensure that all contributions and resources are used wisely and distributed accordingly.

Latest Update - Monday, March 8th

We arrived back into New Bedford at noon on Sunday.  Good to be home!

On Saturday morning we went to Port-au-Prince with the last of the tents (over 100).  It was overwhelming to have so many people at the airport asking for tents – we gave them to a pastor who was going to see that they were delivered, and he handled the crowd – the need is so great…Read More

Wednesday, March 3rd

Yesterday we traveled all day to get here, it is a long ride – we left an hour later than what we planned because of snow and arrived in hot and humid conditions with the threat of rain.

There are three cities that we hope to “get off the plane” and visit for a more in-depth look. When we were asked to bring food and some of the tents we brought on Scott’s plane to Jacmel, we jumped at the chance as Jacmel was on our list of cities to visit.

The first thing you notice in Haiti today is that there is a difference from a month ago. A month earlier there was a sense of emergency and that sense of emergency is way down even though the need is just as high. As you will recall, a month ago when we landed people asked for food. Today when we landed people asked for tents – everyone wants a tent. Read More

Tuesday, March 2nd

Den and Scott left yesterday for Haiti and we have gotten word that they have arrived safely.  They will be distributing tents from our Tent Drive where we were able to bring in nearly 500 tents.  Way to go and thanks to everyone who participated!!!  They will also be taking some time within various areas in Haiti looking to gather further information that will help us strategize what the next steps of our relief efforts will be.  Please keep them in your prayers and check back here for periodic updates while they are in Haiti this week.

Thursday, Jan. 28th

By now I hope you all know that we arrived home safely on Tuesday into New Bedford at 11AM.  This update is long overdue but I will recap and complete the updates of the trip.

On Sunday morning we stayed back at the hotel and through the technology of Skype we were able to broadcast from our hotel in Santiago to the church services at Community Covenant Church.  This was a much needed energy boost to both of us... Read More

Sunday, Jan. 24th

Yesterday we made an early flight back to Port-de-Paix with the 1400lbs we had packed the night before.  The plane we have been teaming with followed in behind with the medical supplies from Ft. Lauderdale.  When we took off we could not figure out how we had so much fuel on-board – the gauges just did not make sense to what we asked for and watched them put in to the tanks.  When the second plane arrived they had a message that a medical team was arriving in Cap Haitian and needed transportation into Port-de-Paix.  Amazing, because of the extra fuel we could go to Cap Haitian and begin...
