Giving Statement Letter
I am pleased to write to you and tell you about a new process we have developed for providing you with your annual receipt for the tithes and offerings you give to Community Covenant Church. As you know, we have been working for some time to develop an on-line database using Church Community Builder (CCB). Throughout this year the staff has worked to insure the integrity and responsiveness of this system. The Community Connections Project Team did an amazing job at connecting the database into our new website. Throughout this year we also made a subtle change in the way we recorded individual giving as this too was added to the database. As of this writing we are “turning on” a new tab in the database for each individual profile. The tab is called “Financial” and when you log into CCB from our website www.communitycovenant.org) you will find a full record of your giving back to 2005 and a simple process to print out your giving statement as your tax receipt. In addition, from now on, you will be able to look at your giving to Community Covenant Church any time you sign-in to CCB. I want to personally assure you that your financial information is completely secure and protected. The only ones who have access to this portion of the database are me and those I designate. This is actually more secure than some of the previous paper systems traditionally used in churches. I believe our new system is as secure as we could have in a local church. If you have given to the church during this past year and have not yet logged into CCB, this is the time to do so. By recording your giving we have started a profile for you. To log in, go to our website www.communitycovenant.org, in the upper right hand corner you will see the words “Log In.” Just click on these words and you will be taken to the CCB login page where you can follow the instructions to receive your password. If you prefer to obtain your Annual Giving Statement through CCB, please fill out the attached form and drop it into any of the offering boxes or turn it in to the Information Desk. This will allow me to NOT print out your statement and will save the church the cost of printing and the potential additional cost of mailing them to you. Printed Annual Giving Statements will be available on January 24th in the church lobby. As treasurer of our church I also wanted to take a moment and thank you for your faithfulness in giving. This past year has been a challenge for many of us as the economy has suffered. I want to assure you that the staff and elders have done everything to contain costs and to keep the church running smooth. At the end of this calendar year we are below budget in giving and on budget for expenses. Therefore, we are behind where we would like to be and we trust that through your faithfulness you will continue to make our church a high priority in your budget.
