Who We Are

Governance

The Elders of Community Covenant Church, along with the Senior Pastor, act as a governing body on behalf of the members of the church. We believe that the role of church government is to facilitate and support the ministries of the church. Elders are members of the church who use their wisdom, discernment, and leadership gifts to ensure that the church remains on a true course biblically and spiritually, and to oversee the church’s spiritual, operational, and financial integrity.

Our Pastor

Dennis Baril is our Senior Pastor. Dennis has been our Pastor since the late 1980’s when he left his job at AT&T to serve this church full-time. He and his wife Donna live in Pawtucket. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.

Our Elders

Paul Boyes is one of the founding members of our church. He has served as an Elder for 16 years and is perhaps most familiar as a key Sunday morning greeter, a ministry he has served in for nearly 19 years. Paul is a process control engineer employed by Invensys Process Systems. He and his wife, Geri, are the parents of two adult daughters and have five grandchildren.

Pat Vieira has been attending the church for over 30 years. She previously served in the Christian Education ministry and was chairperson of the Church Resource Council. An accredited public relations practitioner, Pat is employed at Providence College. She and her husband, Jacques, are the parents of three daughters.

Ron Ware has been attending Community Covenant Church since 1997. He previously served on the Church Resource Council and is active in children’s ministry and small group leadership. A practicing attorney in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, he is a principal with Wealth Impact Partners, a family legacy and philanthropy planning firm. Ron and his wife, Cheryl, are the parents of a son and two daughters.

Ingrid Benson has been attending Community Covenant Church since 2002.  She is an active member of our Women’s Ministry team, and she uses her gifts and abilities to support our KidsChurch ministries.  Ingrid is the office administrator in her husband’s control panel business (J-Con Systems), a self-employed jewelry designer, and an independent consultant for Tastefully Simple. She and her husband, John, are the parents of their adult son, Anders.

Scott Martin has been attending Community Covenant Church since 2003.  He and his wife Tanya have served as Small Group leaders and have supported other various ministries.  Scott is also a key leader in helping us develop and sustain a leadership model that can impact third world countries, specifically with our initial efforts in Haiti.  He is the President of Brahmin Leather Works, a family-owned ladies handbag business.  He and his wife, Tanya, are the parents of two sons and one daughter.
